Cooler Autumn evenings suggest languid time with a glass or two of wine or perhaps a traditional British beer. Accompanied of course by friends, and some warming cold-defying dishes; so our new Bar Menu offers a selection.

fish in beer batter and chipsOur main courses are not just fish & chips. In fact only one dish is 'fish and chips'. That's the full 8oz cod fillet coated in a beer batter. If you've not tried a beer batter before then you are in for a treat. Bass, lemon sole and Skate wing are grilled whole to retain al the flavours within the crisp skins but don't forget to consider the freshly made fish-cakes. It's a little too cool for salads so we have some warming 'comfort food' such as Kedgeree and our famous Fish Pie.

.....and for shell fish aficionados. We have spoilt you for choice. But after all we are famed as a seafood restaurant and seafood is not just fish!

New this month is a lovely Gammon steak, chargrilled and simply packed full of flavour. Or for something a little different try the marinated Squid on a crisp Oriental Salad - delicious.
